Selling on ebay and getting payment through pay pal (is this now how selling on ebay and paypal work?)?
Ive sold a signed and framed football shirt on ebay for a few hundered pounds but nothing has been credited to my account – all I have is an email with a conformation/transaction number sent from the service@paypal address and it says that I have been payed and the status is confirmed but they wont release the funds until they recieve a tracking number from me
is this now standard practice with ebay and paypal?

HANG ON A MINUTE!!!! DON’T POST THAT ITEM!
Paypal do NOT hold onto money until they receive tracking (I too sell items for £00s).
However, it is a popular form of scam to send an email (from the scammer, made to look like Paypal) claiming the money has been received and asking for a tracking number before releasing. You then send the item and never get any money.
Don’t trust the email. Rather, sign into your Paypal account and see if the money is there. If it is, you can withdraw it to your bank account straight away (it doesn’t happen automatically, you have to request the transfer and it takes 7 days).
If you DO have the money, and the payee’s address is verified, you can send straight away and paypal will cover you in the event of a chargeback (make sure you send to the stated address). If it’s NOT verified, I tend to hold onto the item for 5 days just to make sure the funds don’t get reversed
